Both parenting and adolescent social-emotional development happen on a day-to-day basis, influenced by parents’ and adolescents’ daily experiences and activities. Therefore, it is important to examine the relations between parenting and adolescent development at daily level. Supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, this project recruited a total of 99 Canadian parent and youth (12–17 years old) dyads in 2019-2020 to participate in a month-long daily diary study examining their daily experiences, mood, and family relationships. We then followed a subset of these families in 2022 for a follow-up month-long daily diary study with the support of Killam Research Fund.
We have concluded the data collection for this study and are NOT recruiting any new families for this study anymore. Our research team has been busily analyzing collected data, publishing findings, and disseminating knowledge.
