It is our great pleasure to welcome Visiting Scholar Dr. Tomoko Yashima to our lab and university!
Dr. Yashima is a Professor of Applied Linguistics and Intercultural Communication at Kansai University, Japan. Her research interests are related to the areas of applied linguistics, social psychology, and communication studies. Dr. Yashima is well known for her work on language learning, motivation, and willingness to communicate, especially in an intercultural context. She employs a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods in her research.
Dr. Yashima will be visiting the lab from September 15th to September 21st. Please join us in welcoming her!
UPDATE: Due to earthquakes in Japan, the Osaka airport is still under construction, so unfortunately it does not seem like Dr. Yashima will be able to come. We wish her all the best and hope that we might be able to arrange another visit in the future.
