Recruitment for PSY 299 (Independent Studies)

WILL YOU BE IN YOUR SECOND YEAR OF UNIVERSITY IN 2017-2018?

WOULD YOU LIKE TO GET SOME EXPERIENCE DOING PSYCHOLOGICAL RESEARCH?

CONSIDER TAKING PSYCO 299: RESEARCH EXPERIENCE IN PSYCHOLOGY IN THE

Intercultural Communication Lab

We are looking for bright, independent, hard-working students who are interested in culture and social psychology to help with studies on language, ethnic identity, and intercultural communication.  We particularly need students who speak languages other than English, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, and/or Spanish, but anyone with an interest is welcome to apply.

Your involvement includes assisting with research projects, some readings, a brief report on your experience, and attendance at weekly lab meetings.  You will have a “hands-on” opportunity to learn about survey and experimental research and about analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.

PSYCO 299 is a 1.5 credit Pass/Fail course. You can take up to 2 PSYCO 299 courses (for 3 credits total). Pass/Fail courses do not affect your overall GPA (and there are no exams !). You are expected to commit approximately 4-5 hours/week in lab-related work.

If you are interested in being a member of our lab, please contact iclab@ualberta.ca
