My name is Ivana and I am contacting you on behalf of Jack.org UAlberta, a student group on campus that addresses the topic of mental health. We are a branch off of Jack.org – a national non-profit organization of young leaders across the country transforming the way individuals think and talk about mental health.
On Saturday, March 12, 2016, we will be hosting Jack Summit UAlberta – a mental health conference for post secondary students in Edmonton. It will take place at the Radisson Hotel Edmonton South. Early bird tickets are $10 and general admission is $15. All attendees will recieve a catered lunch as well as some awesome Jack.org swag!
We would like to extend an invitation to you and your students’ association to attend our conference. We understand it is not going to take just our student group alone to fight the mental health stigma on campus. We recognize that decreasing the stigma and increasing the mental health dialogue at UAlberta is a collective effort and we need your help!
Not only will the conference provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to care for/support themselves and others in their life but it will also offer a great chance to build leadership skills on mental health. As members of students’ associations on campus, we demonstrate leadership in our areas of expertise – but now it is time for us to all demonstrate leadership in the area of mental health. It is crucial to know how to take care of our mental health and how to support one another.
