Keep your eyes peeled on our Instagram for the application package.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are 9 positions to run for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>President:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Candidates with at least one year of executive experience with another group may be considered.<\/li><li>Overall organization and coordination of the group and its activities<\/li><li>Lays out a plan for the year<br>Schedules and chairs meetings, incl. executive and general<br>Drafts a budget for the year (with VP Finance)<\/li><li>Amends the Constitution, and any other rules, bylaws, etc. (with VP Internal) as needed<\/li><li>Assists any VP that needs guidance or help in their role<\/li><li>Attends at least one meeting of each committee per semester<\/li><li>Holds at least one individual meeting with other VPs each semester<\/li><li>Represents the UPA to the department, university, and community in general<\/li><li>Is the representative at any departmental, faculty, or SGS meetings and relays relevant information to the executive board<\/li><li>Helps promote the UPA and recruiting new members<\/li><li>Writes reference letters for all Executive and volunteers upon request<\/li><li>Applies for group awards<\/li><li>Drafts agendas for Executive meetings<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Co-Chair:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Compliments the roles of the President either in conjunction with or in their absence<\/li><li>Provides support and assistance to all UPA executives<\/li><li>Drafts UPA rules and bylaws (with President)<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>VP Academics:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Organizes numerous academic events such as study groups and forums, which may include: Graduate Studies, Honors Program, Internship Program, Individual Study, and Lab Volunteering<\/li><li>Provides grad school and other program-related information<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>VP Communications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Promotes UPA to students and the campus community<\/li><li>Maintains UPA website<\/li><li>Advertises and promotes all UPA events and activities in collaboration<\/li><li>Creates monthly and special occasion newsletter to send out to Psychology students<\/li><li>Keeps in touch with departmental contacts<\/li><li>Works closely in Liaison with VP Marketing<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>VP Marketing:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Promotes UPA to students and the campus community<\/li><li>Maintains UPA presence on Facebook and Instagram<\/li><li>Advertises and promotes all UPA events and activities in collaboration<\/li><li>Designs UPA Logo and all marketing media<\/li><li>Works in liaison with VP Communications<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>VP Administration:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Responsible for intra-group communication<\/li><li>Keeps the office open and organized with other members<\/li><li>Keeps meeting minutes and other records of volunteer hours<\/li><li>Maintains member and executive contact lists<\/li><li>Maintains the UPA email account<\/li><li>Organizes office hours<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>VP Social:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Responsible for organization and planning of social events for UPA members (minimum of 2 per semester)<\/li><li>Must take SIPS\/AA training before or during the Fall semester and be one of the designated SIPS\/AA representatives at UPA hosted events<\/li><li>Must make certain that the UPA has the proper number of SIPS\/AA representatives at UPA hosted events that include alcohol<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>VP Volunteers:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Recruits volunteers and schedules shifts<\/li><li>Coordinates UPA volunteers and assigns them to committees<\/li><li>Maintains a record of volunteer hours<\/li><li>Manages the Peer Mentorship program<\/li><li>Reviews mentor applications and matches mentors with mentee<\/li><li>Offers guidance and getting feedback for mentors\/mentees<\/li><li>Writes reference letters for mentors if required<\/li><li>Organizes community service initiatives, such as Volunteer Fairs<\/li><li>Provides resources concerning employment and volunteer opportunities<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>VP Finance:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" id=\"block-ecf1d22a-3881-43b8-8ec1-8e3dd9b11b05\"><li>Responsible for finances and banking, including<\/li><li>Managing bank account, updating finance database, counting cash box once a month, going through receipts, making deposits, writing cheques, etc.<\/li><li>Drafts annual budget (with President)<\/li><li>Acquires sponsorship deals and discounts for UPA events and members, grant funding<\/li><li>Attends meetings that include relevant information to granting alongside the president<\/li><li>Works closely with the executives to ensure logistics of each event are confirmed,
