Victoria Rennie (she\/her)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Victoria Rennie was a honours student with the lab from 2020-2022. She was also the lab manager for that time. Her thesis looked at feather angle as a potential expression of emotion in Black-capped chickadees.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Michelle Gao (she\/her)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Michelle Gao was a NSERC USRA student during the summer of 2022 and also in 2023. During her time at the SNL Michell built over 100 cages!! She is a health sciences student at McMaster University in Hamilton.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Jenna Congdon (she\/her)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Jenna received both her MSc. and PhD. from the University of Alberta. She also completed a MITACS postdoctoral fellowship with the Toronto Zoo. Currently, she is a professor at Concordia University. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Kimberley Campbell (she\/her)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Kimberley obtained both her MSc. and PhD. from the University of Alberta. She is an avid bird lover and is passionate about teaching. She is interested in teaching a variety of Psychology , Biology, and Statistics related topics at a post-secondary level. Currently, she is a sessional instructor at the University of Alberta, Grant Macewan and Concordia University. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alexandra Garcia (she\/her)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Alex completed her Honors degree in psychology with the lab. During her time at the SNL Alex led her own research project on individual identity signaling within the chick-a-dee<\/em> call, in addition to collaborating on several other projects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nikhil Kumar (He\/Him)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Nikhil joined the SNL as an undergraduate researcher through the NSERC USRA grant. He was able to study conspecific-driven immediate early gene expression. He graduated with an Honors Neuroscience degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oliver Akins (he\/him)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Oliver joined the lab as an independent studies undergraduate research student. During his time with the SNL, Oliver collaborated on multiple research projects, and lead a study on sex\/species preference in mountain chickadees. He currently works for Parks Canada at Jasper National Park. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Kina Montenegro (she\/her)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Carolina (Kina) Montenegro began her scientific career as a research assistant, studying flashbacks in individuals with PTSD in the Laboratory of Consciousness, Cognition, and Psychopathology at Binghamton University. She has a life-long interest in animals and believes that through studying animals we can gain a deeper appreciation for animals and our environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Onyinyechukwu Okocha (she\/her)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Onyinye completed her Honors degree in psychology at the SNL. As a member of the lab she led a research study on dominance signaling within the fee-bee<\/em> song, in addition to collaborating on multiple other projects. She now works at local women’s shelter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thomas Benowicz (he\/him)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Thomas was an honours student from 2019-2021. He is currently an MEd in Counselling Psychology Student at the University of Alberta. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and has been involved in research and practice in numerous areas of psychology for several years. He spends much of his free time outdoors, including skiing, hiking, kayaking, skydiving, and exploring Alberta. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Annika Chell (she\/they)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Annika joined the SNL as an undergraduate researcher. They married their for animal behaviour, training, and conservation to maximize animal welfare within the lab. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Justin Evans (he\/him)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

While completing his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree, Justin joined the SNL a lead a study on black-capped chickadee responses to various feline predator vocalizations. He now plans to enter a graduate program in psychology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sibongile Henaku (she\/her)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Sibon joined the lab as an independent studies undergraduate research student. Sibon lead a project on the behavioural effect of short-term and long-term exposure to predator vocalizations in black-capped chickadees.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
