As a first-generation scholar, it was difficult for me to anticipate what it would be like at a university, and, the \u2018rules\u2019 associated with the scientific community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Tenure Track (SAGA video)\" width=\"525\" height=\"295\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7bY6IUbeqeE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of my McCalla Professorship, I am developing a game Tenure Track that will allow individuals from non-academic backgrounds to simulate the role of a scientist both conducting and publishing scientific research.
