The PAX/Triple P Project and PEERS Lab in the Department of Psychology at the University of Alberta are seeking a full-time research analyst (RA) to start immediately. The position is for 12 months, with the possibility of renewal pending salary support, for an additional year. The RA will join a multidisciplinary collaborative team of investigators who are examining the influence of a school-based intervention designed to improve classroom behavior. The PAX/Triple P Project is a randomized evaluation of the PAX and Triple P Programs in several elementary schools in Alberta. Three waves of data on all children in grades 1 to 6 and on teachers were collected on three occasions.
Dr. Wendy Hoglund, Director of the PEERS Lab, is a co-investigator on the PAX/Triple P Project. Dr. Hoglund conducts research on social-emotional development during childhood and adolescence. Our research team includes several graduate students, honours students, and volunteers. Research analysts in the Hoglund lab have a chance to participate in a wide range of scholarly activities to align with the candidate’s career goals, including presentations, conference attendance, development of research proposals, and introduction to potential collaborators.
The successful research analyst will network with junior and senior investigators affiliated with the PAX/Triple P Project across a range of disciplines including psychology, nursing, and epidemiology. In addition, this candidate will have exposure to the decision and policy making process through affiliation with PolicyWise. It is anticipated that the successful candidate, upon completion of the position, would have completed scholarly publications and had opportunities to present the findings to academic and decision making audiences. This unique opportunity would position the successful candidate for a successful career in academia, not-for-profit or the public sector.
