Research overview<\/u><\/p>\n
You are invited to participate in a research study being conducted by Kimberly Noels, Ph.D. at the Department of Psychology, University of Alberta. \u00a0The purpose of this study is to examine patterns of ethnic identity and language in Chinese immigrants over the course of their first and second years in Canada.\u00a0 You will participate in an interview concerning Chinese immigrants living in Alberta, including your feelings of identity and experience learning and using English. You will also be asked to complete several language activities in English.<\/p>\n
Participant criteria<\/u><\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a01. \n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a03. We need two groups of participants\uff08time will be changed according to the interview date)<\/strong>
\n 1\uff09landed in Canada less than and include 6 months (participants landed in Canada after Sep, 2015);<\/strong>
\n 2\uff09landed in Canada 3 or 4 years ago and have lived in Canada at least for one and half years (participants landed in Canada between Feb 2012 and March 2013);<\/strong>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 4. Between 18 to 75 years of old<\/strong>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 5. Participants will be excluded if he or she have lived in other English countries (e.g., America, England, Australia and so on) for more than one year.<\/strong><\/p>\n
